  • PO1: PO1 Cross-Disciplinary Integration and Strategic Perspective: Conceptualize, organize and resolve complex business problems or issues by using the resources available under their discretion. PO2 Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: Apply the perspective of their chosen specialized area of study to develop fully-reasoned opinions on such contemporary issues as the need for integrity, leading and managing change, globalization and technology management. PO3 Teamwork: Able to determine the effectiveness with which goals are defined and achieved in team environments to assess the contributions made by themselves as well as by their peers within those environments and to identify and resolve conflicts. Subject Name: Fundamentals of Financial Accounting (FFA)

Statements: The objective of this course is to equip the students with conceptual understanding of finance and its practical application. It is expected that the students possess a sound base in accounting principles and practices including financial analysis. Important decisions that come under corporate finance, namely, setting up of projects covering investment in fixed and current assets, raising funds, and allocation of profits are taken within a framework of risk and return. The course also intends to make students gain the mechanical part of various decisions with the help of selected numerical problems available in various suggested text books. Students are expected to solve a large number of numerical and other assignments which would be the preparatory requirements of this course.

Subject Name: Managerial Communication (MC)

Statements: Communication is a very essential skill for the managers to be successful in their professional career. The objective is to acquaint the students with the basic concepts and techniques of communication that are useful in developing skills of communicating effectively.

Subject Name: Introduction to Governance (IG)

Statements: The term governance has made an impressive career in a number of disciplines concerned with regulation, order and law. The word ‘Governance’ appears in diverse academic disciplines. At general level, governance refers to theories and issues of social coordination and the nature of all patterns of rule. The theories of governance have changed the understanding of various concepts of state and its institutions. New jargon of words emerged into the social science literature with different connotations. In this background, the present course is aimed to provide an in-depth understanding of the basic tenets and trends of Governance.

Subject Name: Introduction to Public Policy (IPP)

Statements: Public policy has assumed considerable importance in response to the increasing complexity of the government activity. The advancements of technology, changes in the social organization structures, rapid growth of urbanization added to the complexities. The study of Public Policy aspires to provide an in-depth understanding of the ills prevailing in the society and aids to identify the solutions for them. Public policy is an important mechanism for moving a social system from the past to the future and helps to cope with the future. The main objective of this foundation course is to provide an opportunity to the student to learn the basic areas of public policy on the largest gamut of its canvas.

Statements: To enable students learn the basic concepts and principles of marketing and understand tools that they can use for managing a firm’s marketing operations.

Subject Name: Legal Aspects of Business (LAB)

Statements: Gain an understanding of fundamental legal issues pertaining to the business world to enhance their ability to manage businesses effectively. Outline the various facets of basic case laws of each Act from a legal and managerial perspective.
