Hostel Facilities
By understanding the value and need of a second home to Non-Native students, the Gujarat University hostel has all the basic amenities to offer. Gujarat University came up with a separate hostel facility for boys and girls in the year 1964.
Eligibility for students to get admission in Gujarat University Hostel:
- A student of Ph.D., M. Phil, Post- Graduation and K.S. School of Business Management (integrated) of Gujarat University will get admission in these hostels.
- Students who are residing outside for more than 40 K.M. range from the university campus are eligible for hostel facility based on merit generated by the hostel.
- Boy’s hostel has a capacity of 550 students with 6 blocks namely A, B, C, D, E, F with single-seated and double-seated rooms. Whereas, girls hostel has a capacity of 196 students with 2 blocks namely A and B with single-seated and double-seated rooms.
The list of facilities provided by Gujarat University such as:
- Spacious, well-furnished, and comfortable rooms with the facility of the table, chair, cupboard, and bed for each student.
- Walking distance from University campus
- 24/7 power supply
- Water cooler and water purifier in each block
There are some special visiting rooms also prevailing in Gujarat University hostel for the students who are coming from non-native places for different purposes like exams, seminars, conferences, camps, etc. to encourage students.
Samras Chhatrlay Society Hostel
The government of Gujarat has established Gujarat Samras Chhatrlay Society in the year 2016 under the social justice and empowerment department. With the motive of all "All caste under one roof" Samras Chhatrlay Society had established 2 hostels of all the cast SC/ST/OBC/EBC and with a separate quota of physically handicapped students, child of a widow, orphan and backward community among SC/SC/OBC based on merit marks with minimal charges in Ahmedabad Gujarat University campus namely:
- A student of Ph.D., M. Phil, Post- Graduation and K.S. School of Business Management (integrated) of Gujarat University will get admission in these hostels.
