As sports and sporting culture are now recognised by our beloved Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi as core to creation of successful and confident individuals who can rise to build a strong modern India, Gujarat University has decided to take the onus of transforming education through sports and has embarked on a highly ambitious project of Sardar Patel Sports City (SPSC) on the campus that is expected to provide world class facilities to sportspersons to train and develop into international level sportsmen.
Sardar Patel Sports City is a housing international level sports infrastructure for:

Facility to accommodate 500 athletes Having support infrastructure of gym, training rooms, health clinical and recreation rooms
Training facility using latest technologies that enhance human performance Health check and progress monitoring facility
As the facility is on the verge of getting operational, it is important that it incorporates international best practices. So, there is a strong need of learning best practicesfor training and sports technology from other nations who are world leaders in sports and have state-of-the-art sporting infrastructure. As part of imbibing knowledge from similar facilities across the world, Gujarat University is also considering sending its representatives to foreign nations with strong sporting culture such as Australia, Russia, China, and USA etc.
The learning that these visits will yield will be incorporated in positioning Sardar Patel Sports City as an international class venue available for the sporting events for national and international level.
