Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC) at Gujarat University was formally constituted in the year 2015. Ever since various programmes are carried out for the target group consisting of differently abled students, reserved categories, minorities and women students of Gujarat university, the report of which are mentioned here with. Also gave suggestions to the University in the compliance of various specifications regarding infrastructure for ensuring accessibility and barrier free environment for the differently abled students.
- To promote diversity and inclusive practices on the campus & provide the disadvantaged groups with adequate opportunities.
- To raise awareness regarding issues amongst the stakeholders & help to create an enabling & non-discriminative environment for the disadvantaged groups in the institution of higher education.
- To ensure implementation of policies, schemes and programmes for the inclusion of underprivileged groups within the framework of policies and guidelines of the GOI/UGC.
EOC is a special cell of the university with an objective to promote diversity & inclusive practices on the campus and provide disadvantaged groups with adequate opportunities.
We believe in the principle of Antodya as espoused by Mahatma Gandhi, through which we aim to achieve equality of opportunity for all.
We believe that our target group irrespective of the background can contribute to nation building constructively.
To be a fulcrum of growth for our target group.
To be a focal point of community development initiatives of the university.
To contribute to the society and nation at large.
EOC works for affirmative action for the deprived sections such as persons from SC, ST, OBC (Non‐ creamy layer) categories, persons from religious & language minorities, differently‐abled persons and Women.
